Don’t you want to help the food insecure in our surrounding communities?

Food insecurity in Massachusetts is being put under the spotlight with a survey that found one-third of adults struggle to get access to proper nutrition statewide. A new survey conducted by the Greater Boston Food Bank found that 1.8 million people or 32% of the state’s adult population said they were food insecure.

Anna’s Fund, the Anna LaViolette SNAP Matching Fund, helps SNAP customers buy more fresh produce and locally made food at our market by doubling SNAP benefits up to $15 per SNAP customer card, per market day.

This raffle will go directly into funding this program.

About the Artist:
Winchester artist Denise Konicek has been quilting since the early 90s. After gaining proficiency in traditional quilts, she began creating her own traditional-stye designs and entering regional and national quilt shows. Designing evolved into more daring and pictorial compositions, and in the late 90s, Denise was able to become a master student of longtime Winchester resident Beatriz Grayson, an internationally known art quilter, and continued her studies with her for 8 years.

Currently, Denise is building her reputation as a fine art quilter and has been accepted in to juried shows at the local, regional, and national level, with one art quilt accepted for the SAQA, Studio Art Quilt Associates international juried show. Her art quilt website is www.denisekonicekart.com .
