Quilt RaffleWe are having a special raffle of queen size Quilt by Denise Konicek, local master quilter.
All proceeds from the raffle will go to Anna’s Fund, which boosts the purchasing power of SNAP customers to buy fresh and local food from Winchester Farmers Market. This season, Anna’s Fund is running low, and the quilt raffle is one initiative to replenish it.

The SNAP customer will receive double their benefits up to $15 per card/per market day when they process their card at the Market Manager’s tent. They then can use their SNAP tokens to make eligible purchases at any of the market’s five produce farmers. The Winchester Farmers Market also provides, through the Massachusetts Healthy Incentive Program, an instant rebate into the SNAP customer’s account for purchase of fruits and vegetables. We also accept Women, Infant and Children (WIC) coupons and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program FMNP) coupons.

Winchester Savings Bank is sponsoring our intern program that hired interns this season to administer the SNAP program and pay for our welcome SNAP Customer banner. Each week, intern – Sophie Farnhill, will be at the manager’s tent at the entrance to the market. Qualified shoppers can stop by to pick up tokens for shopping. In addition, they can get up to $10 in matching funds from Anna’s Fund.

The Anna LaViolette SNAP Matching Fund
was created by the Winchester Farmers Market to honor the memory of our great friend, Anna LaViolette. Anna, an 85 year-old volunteer, was with us only two short years but she rarely missed a Saturday staffing the manager’s tent. She embodied the spirit of what the Market aspires to be: always welcoming, inquisitive, and vibrant. She was a strong believer in our mission of providing healthy, fresh food to all families.

Through Anna’s Fund the Winchester Farmers Market will double SNAP benefits up to $15 per customer card, per market day. Anna’s Fund is created to support the Winchester/Woburn community and neighboring towns. If we find that the demand is greater and the Fund can accommodate it, we will increase the amount we can match per market day.

The Anna LaViolette Matching SNAP Fund is supported by the LaViolette family.
