At the Jenks Center with Gary Gilbert, Boston Mycological Club
Join Gary as he provides a comprehensive overview of these wonderful fungi in our ecosystem. He will discuss their necessary role as decayers and nutrient providers and their role allowing nutrient transfer, creating a communication system often referred to as the “Wood-Wide Web”.
This presentation includes a discussion about identifying varieties and a visual tour of the common ones we find in our forests. Feel free to bring in any mushrooms you may have found.
Sponsored by a generous grant from The Cummings Foundation.
